Hoods
« on: July 28, 2008, 01:49:09 PM »
Just had a new hood fitted to my Bulldog 5 by Polyfactors of Hailsham. And very good it looks to!

If you want to give them a try speak to Les on 01323 841399. He has a number of pattens for most, if not all, Pilgrims as he used to make the hoods, doors etc for Pilgrim. He also has a few stories about Pilgrim which you might find interesting while waiting for your new hood!

The work takes about four hours including fitting during which time we took a bus ride to Eastbourne, had lunch and then back to Hailsham. I would add a photo but those I have taken have too many KB thingys to download here so will have to take some more at a later date.

Hi Robin - glad to hear that Polyfacto Hoods were able to help yet again. You are slightly unusual in that I have not heard of anyone having their hood fitted by Polyfacto before, usually doing it themselves. I think if everyone had theirs "fitted" by Polyfacto then the number of complaints about leaking hoods would reduce to nothing. Four hours is good - I have taken that amount of time over the sidescreens alone - fettling, bending and forming to fit.

Re your KB thingys, you can reduce them by opening the picture in Microsoft Picture Manager, which you should have on your PC, click on Picture, Resize, then click on the box "Predefined Width and Height", and choose a suitable size, ie web 640 x 480 and see how many KB wotsits that gives you. Pesky little KB's.
