Hi all,
Just a quick post  to wish everyone a happy new year. It seems ages since I last posted and I have to admit that I  haven't been as active in the garage as I should have been, my excuse is that I have just become a grandad for the first time, the baby arrived a couple of months earlier than expected, which meant ferrying daughter to and from hospital and also frequent visits.
Well, I  bit the bullet and decided to have the seats (Corbeau Sportsman Recliners) re-upholstered. I met a guy at the Exeter show who manufactured seating for "Interiors Seating" at Mansfield.
I took them to him a couple of weeks later and couldn't believe it when I got a call the next Wednesday saying they were ready for collection. He had made an absolutely superb job of them, completely re=constructing them and the new covering looks terrific. The seats were £110 each +VAT and he also made some really nice headrests for £25.
During the conversation we had, he told me he used to be  the MD at Richfield Seating, Apparently he had a falling out with his partner and they went separate ways . The company was then sold to Interiors Seating who also offered him a job .
I am currently about to trim the interior with super luxury vinyl and carpet the area behind the seats. I keep putting off the crawling in the foot-wells, mainly because of my considerable bulk and the old back problem. However in a weak moment the wife offered to help which I won't let her forget. I decided to carpet the area behind the seats as the original rear seat supplied by Pilgrim was very tatty and the four point seat belts pulled the back of the seat forward when in use.
I also noticed slight oil leak from the nearside rear half-shaft/wheel bearing. so still a little bit more to keep me busy. I can see a faint light at the end of tunnel, even if it is the length of the channel tunnel.
Once again  hope you all have a good 2012

Cheers
StuartK

Good to hear from you Stu and congratulations on the Grandad bit!
I seem to have been doing less as well in the garage but still get Lady Ermintrude out at least every fortnight or so. Too busy enjoying life I suppose. Looking forward to the shows as usual this year but whether the Bulldog gets to them rather than the motorhome only time will tell.
Hope that everyone saw the first newsletter - more to come in the New Year - please shout out if you are a PCC Club member and you have not seen either a paper or electronic copy.
Happy New Year to one and all,
