Hi again Folks

I've just managed to pick up a fibreglass hardtop for my Hawthorn but not sure how to fix it as it came with no fittings

Any ideas ?

Many thanks

Mr Jigsaw will be able to help you here. I am sure that as soon as he sees your post he will answer! It may not be quiet as simple as you might hope as Jigsaw did not get his nickname without good reason.

Talking about jigsaws I had one in the back of the car just in case it didn't fit when I picked it up but I managed to fit it into the back of my Celica !!!

Almost tempted to turn it into a 3 piece targa type top to make it easier to fit and store

Have a long look at Jigsaw's hard top before you do. Nice opening rear window and an excellent fit. Well worth the trouble to get it right.

Hi Les

Thanks for the pictures  Smiley

I was hoping for a latch/catch solution so it can be easily removeable but I agree it will need a lot of work to avoid putting catches on the bodywork

I will have another look at a way of fixing it on but can't see an easy way of doing the windscreen fixing

Thanks again

However you fit it I am sure that you will get accustomed to taking it on and off quickly. Les seems to do ok - at least from one day to the next you never know whether it is going to be on or off.

Hi Simon it only takes me about ten minits to take the top of and put on
i have got a removable back window its on hinges from an old sun roof
that i got from the breakers that makes it esey to lift on and off by myself.
Have you thought of over centre latches on the windscreen posts as the ac cobras have.
i am shore you could yous the same type of latches for the back of the door.
sum kind of locating pin and socket for the back.
you can fined a large selection at car builder solutions. or europa spares.

Cheers again Les  Grin

Yes I've been looking at the over centre latches and just need to work out how to fix them to the windscreen frame

Will have a play this weekend  Smiley
