Unless you were at the AGM at Stoneleigh recently, you may not be aware that both the Treasurer and Chairman of the club resigned.
At that AGM, a new Treasurer stepped forward and was voted on to the Committee. Unfortunately the same could not be said for the Chairman's post.
However, subsequent to the AGM a volunteer for the post has stepped forward. According to the Club Rules, six members may call an Extraordinary General Meeting, and this rule is being invoked in order to vote for a new Chairman. I anticipate that this EGM will be held at the next SELANK area meeting in June. Other viable (ie being able to host at least 6 club members) suggestions are welcome and invited.
I am attempting to contact as many club members as possible, via telephone or email over the course of the next few weeks, to bring the matter to their attention, and in fairness to any other club members who may have been considering taking up the post themselves.

Do you think we may get enough members at detling to go for a vote?

It is possible, but I know for certain, at least with a bit of work, that I can get six members together for something like this at my monthly meeting. I have now three proxy votes from members who live too far away to attend.
