Hi Steve and welcome to the forum.
As far as I am aware, nobody stocks Bulldog windscreens but they are available from most good windscreen suppliers - try autoglass for instance - if you take along a template so they can cut you one to size from flat windscreen glass. You probably have a local windscreen place to try - if not do a google search and you will come up with a good number.
Have a good look through this website as we have answered a lot of questions that you will no doubt have about your car (including how to identify whether it is a Mk1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) that we have answered already many times - a little research will pay instant dividends! If we have not seen the problem already, or if you cannot find a relevant thread, please post a question and we will answer it as speedily as we can.
By the way, if you do not have a Pilgrim build manual, please drop me an email off-line with your address and I will send you a CD with most of the marques of the Bulldog on it.

Ok thanks for that, still a little worried about the windscreen however, i will have a closer inspection tomorrow, the log book says the car was built in 1989 and has a 1.6 pinto engine along with the running gear from the cortina, apart from that i know very little about this car

Hi Steve,
It is almost certainly a MKIV. Are there "vents" at the outside of the engine compartment i.e. the bits that look like a grill, if there are it is a MKIV if not and it doesn't have any then it will be a MK V. Both are Cortina based and can have the 1600 or 2ltr Pinto engine in as their normal lump and I have seen them with V6's and even a Z-Tech developing 240+ bhp. So what is "normal" for a Bulldog, or any kit car for that matter? The answer is simple, "normal" is whatever you decide is what you want to do to yours. I've seen thousands of kit cars over the past few years and I don't think I have ever seen two that were exactly the same. That's why we have them, you buy one then make it your own, change the seats, change the dash , change the colour , whatever you like or can afford. If you need any help or encouragement you've definitely comre to the right place.
I have a MKIV so if I can be of any help let me know.

Thanks Keith, looking at it again tomorrow with cash, although the windscreen seriously bugs me, if there is any crack at all in the screen does it automatically fail an MOT? and im not sure on any windscreen places around here which will cut glass themselvs (they tend to buy then in) and i take it you cant replace it with something like perspex?
The car isnt too expensive as there are a few small problems, one i have just mentioned, the other is it has not MOT but apparently the last time it was used was on the way back from the MOT centre, then it has been garaged for 2 years.
Cheers

Hi Steve,
The windscreen shouldn't be to much of a problem and I am going to have to look myself as I have two stone chips in mine and am not sure it will pass the MOT with it so I'll let you know how I get on. Do you know what it failed the MOT on last time or did it actually pass last time. The usual problems for cars that have been stood up for any length of time brakes and clutch being siezed on or rubber gaiters etc perishing. Mine was stood for nine years and other than the tyres going a bit out of shape and the steering rack gaiter being perished there was no real trouble. If you want to email me some pics or make a list of what you think needs doing and I can give you some idea of what it might cost you. If you have bought it at a reasonable price you would be surprised what what you can achieve by spending just two or three hundred quid doing it up.
