Hi All

It seems that the German Haldane that was for sale a while back has found a new owner, I'm presuming it's the same one, how many exist in Germany that need work i wonder ?

So can i presume I'm OK to pass  on e-mail addresses to him ?
The reason i ask is the same as before, this time it's from  Prof B Platzer.

He wanted to know which fuel tank was used in the Haldane, as far as i was aware mine has the MG Midget tank, I'm not sure which model it's from as someone else identified it for me

Regards

Mine being a Pilgrim 3000 (not sure how it differs from later Haldanes) doesn't, I don't think anyway, have a Midget tank - I was under the impression, given how it looks was made by Pilgrim themselves but, as usual, I MAY be wrong.  However, my delightful manual says "Our purpose made fuel tank holds about 45 litres ..."

I've put a photo here of mine but AFTER a couple of mods were made - the two 'holes' on the top, at each end were not original; the raised one on the middle was original but now capped off.  HTH

The original fuel tanks for the Haldane 100 was a peppiest built tank by Haldane's that sat
under the back chassis holding 7 galons but i believe thy changed it and put the tank
in the boot to meet the safety regs wot tank thy  used for this i don't know.

I have just had a look in the original build manual and it has no reference to a type of fuel tank just that there is one with a fuel return pipe attached. Lee is correct it was fitted under the boot floor. I have a Volvo one in mine modified to fit with fuel return for the injection. It does hit speed humps if they are a bit high and you are going a little bit too fast over them.

I've replied to him with all the details i have and I've asked him for some photos, it could be the yellow one as he's replied to my first e-mail that it was recently imported to Germany, I've asked him if thats the case then we might be able to get more details of the fuel tank used, it seems that there are quite a few choices, like a lot of kits i suppose, you use what you have handy.

I've also asked him to get in touch with this website as there are people here that are willing to help him with information etc.

My fuel tank also fits under the boot floor but i blanked off the original filler hole and put it in the opposite corner so that the filler cap is on the rear nearside wing and the pick up points are underneath facing forwards.

Just to confirm that the 3000 I have (as well as being a Pilgrim made tank) also has a different fuel tank configuration being at quite high level in the boot - as black shiny rectangular object in photo:

Hi all
Found out the previous owner of this car was a Mr Andrew Halls who lives in Wales
I don't know if he was the builder of the car but does anyone remember him ? was he a member ?

Also Bernhard has tried to upload some photos without any luck, i assume that's because he's not a member yet or may not have even registered yet, I'll e-mail him with some more details ( maybe another member ! )

He's sent me some photos and I'll try and get them on here if i can work out how  Huh
Roy

PS. found a phone number, I'll ring tomorrow
