So long as it does not clash with anything else I am up for it in 2012. Nice long time to plan.

Hi Jigsaw,
Drove from West Coast of Scotland to Le mans Classic 2010 00 miles to Dover Slight Hiccuping but okay,
Calais to first Motorway Paypoint No probs
Wife dropped ALL our money out at Paypoint didn't realise until 2 miles down road!
Had to run/walk back found money in middle of motorway!!
Stopped traffic and picked up what I could, lost £ 180.00!!!!!!
Car then ran very hot and suffered from fuel evaporation and had to stop and let it cool down at side of road.
Mean while wife decides to suffer from heat stroke in sympathy ? So car over heating, wife over heating and my blood boiling. ( and to throw into mix just recovered from series of back and knee operations!)
Then starter motor stops working, had to push car along hard shoulder to bump start with wife at wheel ( danger off the road as well as on it !). finally got to within 1 kilometre of hotel and electrics give up all together.
Got a tow from very nice French chap wife had been chatting up ( she does have her uses after all ) to Hotel to loud cheers from other occupants as other car in party had gone on ahead.
got recovery out to fix, electrics working again but couldn't fix starter. ( 35 year old car parts difficult to get in France )
Only two weeks before our trip I decided to take out breakdown recovery through my insurance co , best £21.00 I have every spent recovered car home, albeit 3 weeks later and gave us hire car for rest of trip 2500 miles around France.
Loved the event and the racing, would I go again, yes but I would camp and not staying hotel outside Le Mans. Missed out on a lot and spent too much time IN car getting there.
Le Mans Classic 2012 yes please, but, may only be me and will have different car spent winter trying to fathom out wiring, new starter and checked engine out.
So there WILL be a 1975 Pilgrim Bulldog that requires a new soft top ( have fitted Hardtop ) and paint job up for sale very soon. ( she has spoken and before I get too old and past it I want a COBRA ) May P/X for part built job
Anyway i hope you enjoyed my tale and look forward to joining you in 2012, let me know if club is going as a group.
Keep up the good work
Yours
Newbie ( Locost , Spartan, Ranger, Tiger & Bulldog )

Hello Clive and welcome to the forum! Nice long story - would have made a great article for our magazine..........
I can sympathise with wanting a Cobra "before it is too late" - I still have a few cars that I would like to own.
I think that we should keep a tab on who wants to come, and organise the trip as soon as neccessary, ie end of this year/beginning of 2012 or whenever the tickets become available for the event.
