After a fail note last week for a very few minor items it sailed through the retest today, in glorious sunshine, In Exeter.

On the way home, some 'old' woman yelled from her euro-clone / tin-top, whilst in a traffic light queue, "You haven't got a number plate on the back!".  "I know" said my passenger, helper, etc, "there's not one on the front either!".  "It's illegal!" she shrieked.  Oh no it isn't (wasn't), in this case.

I don't think the colour scheme is much of a mystery as I've told most people who ask - unless you like mysteries  Grin  .  The plan is to have it metallic light blue over old english white.

Unfortunately (car-wise), & I've been putting it off for months, I need to concentrate on an imminent house move  Cry  & clearing out years of hoarding items which will "come in useful one day" - if you know what I mean.

Thanks for all the "well dones"!

There is bare filler on the wheel arches & wouldn't want it, in that state, to get wet & dirty not to mention the time taken to register it.  PLUS, we're trying to move house & I've got mountains of clearing to do!

May be I should now update my avatar - if I could see how to do it  Wink .

Congratulations Roger on getting your car through the IVA and I’m sure you’ll have loads of fun on the road.
For my part I’ve lost a certain amount of enthusiasm with my Pilgrim 3000 build to a point where it’s come a stop. On seeing you getting yours through IVA has caused me to have another look at it with a view to completely start the build again.
I would like to ask, if you wouldn’t mind (and anybody else for that) for any advice, details or experiences so I can achieve that Pass
Hope to hear from

If I can get a 1989 made Hawthorn through the SVA test then you can easily manage the 3000. I am sure that Roger will pass on some invaluable information to you.
How far are you away from having the car tested? I am sure it is nearer than you think!

Hi Tone,

Welcome to the very small 3000 (/Haldane) club - as Les said, we need all the 3000s we can get & I'll be happy to try & help as much as I can. There is another regular 3000 'poster', Simon, who helped me a lot with my build so I really know how invaluable it is.  There is another 3000 guy I know who, although he doesn't post here, has recently had his pass the IVA.  So there are a few of us!!! plus the guys with the Haldanes which are slightly different in construction in places but a lot of principles are the same - as with a lot of kits (even bulldogs & hawthorns - may be Grin)

Where are you geographically - you may be fairly near one of us?

Thanks for the encouragement and I wonder if you could help with a couple of details.
As you well know the  build manual is scant to say the least and I wondered (particularly with the IVA) how you guys have built up the rear bulkhead , I was lead to belive from Pilgrim that its what they called the cross bow! and how people dealt with mounjting the windscreen and the electric windows? Any pictures would be great
Oh yes I wonder if anybody knows what the latest is with regards the BS kite marks to the windscreen?

Thanks
Tony
