This is in "my" garage having just fitted - "fitted" is a bit too precise a word really - my windscreen, received about 2 weeks ago.

looking good roger.i see what you meant about the scuttle not matching the curve of the screen.you may be able to gently jack it up and bond a stiffner underneath.im sure you will get some other suggestions soon.by the way i dont think you will get a hood over that roll bar Grin

I was actually thinking of a bespoke hood so I could wear my top hat! or should it be a tall conical-shaped hat with a big "D" on it?  But, I'm grateful for your observations   Cheesy  Grin

I had thought of making up a metal frame, 'curved' (or strictly speaking "multi-faceted" - like an old thrupenny bit, if you can remember what they looked like)  but would also need something to make it look a smooth curve on the outside and I'm a bit concerned it may affect the fit of the bonnet; so may be a combination of a metal frame & some neatly cut plywood fixed to each other & bonded to the underside, as you say.  Does that mean I'll have to take off the body AGAIN to turn it turtle?   Roll Eyes

HI roger its les just had a look at your photo its coming on now. looking at your windscreen AR you shore you have
the rake of the screen right if it tipd back the center would be closer to the scuttle the screen pilers AR different to
the 100/4 with mine i had a Bord glassed in under the scuttle if yours has this maybe you could cut the glassfiber
gently heat up the back of the scutttle and jack it up to meet the cerv of the screen then glass it back in.
the scuttle looks a little bit flat in the photo if you just heat up the back it should not change the bonnet opening.
carnt Waite to see you that top hat are you going to put spot lights on the roll bar like the 4by4s have  Roll Eyes.
Keep it up you be able to pull simons car apart now good a. Cry

Hi Les,

It's partly the way I took the picture but mainly that the screen is by no means in its final position - necessarily; it is there mainly so I can figure out where the legs go & how to fix them.  I have some cunningly designed 'A' & 'B' post framework but, as you know, it's all got to fit together somehow.   And thanks for the tip re heating the scuttle underside - Den told me that I may have to reshape the scuttle & cut it away from the bulkhead and I do have a piece of suitable ply to use as an arch-former & to glass in.  I think, particularly from what Simon has said, I need to sort out the doors and the glass to them first to then determine the position & rake of the screen - that's the next task after all the metalwork framing is complete (soon!).

I also thought about attaching a small baby swing to the roll bar for my new grandson; what do you think?  What sort of fittings should I use?   Undecided
